Monika De Caux – one year at Sublime!

Hi Everyone!

Here we are, 1 month into winter and us Mountain folk are settling into the long cold gloom
and trying our best to dodge the plethora of viruses thrown our way and keep moving.

At this point any movement is good, right?
Considering how hard it is to get out of our cosy nests, into the bitter cold and to class!

June wraps up a year of my stint at Sublime. It has gone mind-blowingly fast! Lets reflect on the past year and how we have all “moved” together. I have really enjoyed bringing my own brand to Sublime; offering it to regular clients and attracting a few new ones too.

Contemporary Flow, as we named it, is a blend of Classical Pilates moves; peppered with bits and pieces from all of the styles that I have enjoyed over the years but particularly from one of my favourite trainers Heather Andersen of New York Pilates.

During the long lockdowns of Covid, I came across her workouts and saw such a refreshing mix of moves with cool music and props. Its like she re invented Pilates for me. Fresh and exciting.

I saw that it doesn’t have to be so serious! You can actually ENJOY your workout while you listen to cool music and have a laugh. All the while, building amazing strength. So. Winning.

Here, I want to THANK everyone who has come to class and become addicted to Pilates, just as I am. We’re in this together!

At the end of Term 2, I was excited to introduce Cardio Boxing to Sublime. I can say in all honesty that the class was enjoyed by all, and no-one left the class cold, haha! Our Cardio Boxing is a mixture of genuine Muay Thai – Thai boxing, movements for core strength and Calisthenics, to the beat of some awesome tunes and a lot of laughs. It’s a sweaty, cardio workout that is suitable for all fitness levels, as you only work as hard as you feel like.

I want to thank the Cardio Boxing crew. What a fun and energetic bunch of people. The 5 block term of boxing was a success, I think we can all say we loved it and I look forward to introducing more in Term 3.

I’m off to Thailand for 1 month and will be back in Term 3, with more fresh inspiration and energy.
THANK YOU to everyone that’s attended my classes, you made my year so great.

BYE! xx
