Experience
They say that changing careers several times in your life gives the opportunity to develop and build on transferable skills and remain mentally active. So after 30 years in tertiary education and educational leadership roles, and approximately 12 years in hospitality before that, Jane embarked on her new career as a Pilates Instructor.
It seemed a natural step to take as over the years, Pilates has enabled her to remain flexible, strong and fit, even as her body now starts to experience age related challenges such as arthritis and other mystery aches and pains.
Since her initial introduction to Pilates after a lumbar disc injury, Jane has been passionate about this thoughtful and precise movement practice and how transformative it can be to peoples’ wellbeing.
She brings a wealth of life and teaching experience to her practice, noting that she feels fitter than ever, and is excited about sharing her passion, knowledge and experience with others.
Jane is particularly interested in working with older clients as they strive to maintain their strength, flexibility and balance capability. Joseph Pilates believed that the longer we live, the more opportunity we have to improve our health; he also somewhat optimistically said that our “prime of life should be in our 70’s and old age should not come until we are almost 100” Something to strive for indeed!
